Sometimes We Get What We Need
Wednesday, March 21, 2018
I admit, I’m happy we have a snow day. Teachers are usually as glad as students for a snow day. The bad part is it was the last math class of this cycle. (We have three cycles per school year.) So the timing isn’t great, but a snow day nevertheless. My best bud came with me to the doctor yesterday. I have a lot oftrouble getting to medical appointments because in that regard, I’m a baby. Just knowing he was coming with me made me feel a lot calmer. Plus my doctor seemed to be more accepting of my way of being. Maybe he is getting sensitivity training, and maybe I’m growing my courage. My buddy and I then went to his house, and he cooked a healthyvegetarian dinner for us. I felt so grateful for all the nurturing. Then I received a text from a student asking if there would be school today. I called the college, and the recording said they’d be closed on Wednesday, 3/21. Snow day! Snow day!To top it off, I didn’t have to wait for the bus to go home. My buddy washeading out, so he drove me home. A car ride typically feels like a treat to me.When I get through a stressful situation, I tend to feel it is a Fridaynight even when it isn’t. But with the snow day today, last night did feel like a Friday night. I bought a bottle of wine and continued to feel grateful.

Off Stage and On Stage
Friday, March 16, 2018
When I’m not performing as a comic, actress, poet, or prose writer, I teach adults who need their basic education for any number of reasons. I also do administrative work, along with a whole team, to keep the program alive, running, and worth attending.A program I work for held an event on Tuesday, March 13th that I had a large part in planning. We had a 5-student panel mix of current students and alumni who have gone on to college, some master’s degrees and one expecting her PhD at the end of 2018. Three teachers also were videotaped talking about adult basic education. A professional video editor agreed to work on our video as a gift. Okay, he is married to one of the three teachers in the video. But he still did it as a gift to us. That is William Hohauser. I recommend him big time! He knew exactly what to ask me (which were many questions) in order to be able to make decisions while turning a 20-minute conversation into a 6-minute video. I’m sharing it here. If you love it as I do (or even like it), please spread it around. Click on the title below. It's Never Too Late

Wanna Hear Something Funny?
Tuesday, March 6, 2018
Wanna Hear Something Funny?Come on out to the Funny Underground Comedy Krew (F.U.C.K.) show on Friday evening. I’m sure you’ll hear much funny. The producer, Aaron Smith, was smart enough to double the estrogen in the show. At first I was it, but he since added Nichole Spain. Looking forward. Okay, the men are funny too.
Tickets cost less on line and a bit more at the door.Any fine artist out there looking to hire a portrait model? Any writer outthere needing a pair of keen eyes to proofread your manuscript? Need a loving person to walk your dog or feed your cat? Want to hire a not-your-typical comic? Willing to pay for me to give a poetry reading? Have an acting role for me to try out for? If you need someone to do an odd or one-time job, talk to me. I need to eat. I helped a friend scrub some stuff a couple of weeks ago for some cash. I also enjoyed an opportunity to pet her cats. So talk to me whatever the task might be.Nothing sexual is for sale. I know most of my readers wouldn’t think thatit is, but some people hear what they need to hear. And some hear with a different organ than their ears.
